After thirty years with Pepper Hamilton, Team PA Foundation Board member Jim Murray will be leaving the firm and the practice of law on October 1 to begin a new career as the President of The O'Neill Companies, a holding company of which the real estate development company, O'Neill Properties Group, is the principal component.
Steve Kohler - Team PA Ambassador and former director of the Governor's Action Team has been named to lead the new "Space Florida"
state agency by Governor Jeb Bush...the Meadville native recently has
been CEO of Winner Global Defense LLC based in Sharon, PA. Kohler's job will be to help
entice space industry jobs to the Sunshine State just as NASA has moved
to cut thousands of Kennedy Space Center Jobs.
Carnegie Mellon University is listed as one of the 25 "New Ivies" according
to the Kaplan/Newsweek How to Get Into College Guide now in bookstores. The
Pittsburgh school has earned a national reputation as the "most tech savvy" and
the "hottest school for getting a job" and its record entices three times as
many applicants as it admits each year. The new guide gives the school high
marks for engineering, technical, drama programs and its "entrepreneurial
spirit." The book's editor also credits Pittsburgh's city environment for
bringing a boost in the school's rankings.
