Ensuring the manufacturing sector is sustained and continues to grow is a top priority of Team Pennsylvania Foundation.
Manufacturing is the foundation on which Pennsylvania’s economy was built and the driving force that provides family-sustaining wages for Pennsylvanians across the commonwealth.
Ensuring that sector thrives and continues to grow is a top priority at Team Pennsylvania Foundation.
That’s why Gov. Corbett charged Team PA with leading the Governor’s Manufacturing Advisory Council, a private-sector initiative designed to identify and prioritize top issues that can help influence, sustain and advance that industry.
The 24-member council met over a six-month period beginning in January 2012, discussing issues impacting their industry with the ultimate goal of providing Governor Corbett and the Pennsylvania Legislature recommendations to improve that industry sector.
Representing a cross-section of manufacturing interests including heavy machinery, minerals, pharmaceuticals, plastics, steel and textiles, the council reviewed regulatory and economic roadblocks that impede growth factors and identified ways to market the attributes that make Pennsylvania a great place for manufacturers to do business.
Team PA is fully funding the council and its ongoing work at no cost to Pennsylvania taxpayers.
“The future of our business depends on a well-educated workforce. Team PA is a leader when it comes to workforce development and it creates economic opportunities for companies like CenturyLink and all of Pennsylvania.”
