Established in 1971 by the General Assembly, Pennsylvania’s 29 intermediate units operate as regional education service agencies to Pennsylvania’s 500 public school districts and over 2400 non-public and private schools.
Team Pennsylvania Foundation is supporting an effort to build capacity in and among Pennsylvania’s 29 intermediate units to ensure that the pace of Pennsylvania’s educational progress is accelerated.
This initiative also aims to advance the understanding of the intermediate units capacity to provide cost-effective and management-efficient programs that raise student achievement in educational settings throughout the commonwealth.
“Team PA has been very effective in working with us, and particularly in the efforts with the Gates Foundation grants, as we strive toward the goal to measure what makes an effective teacher.”
