Numerous programs and initiatives to create gender equity in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) have been implemented only to lose effectiveness or fade away.
Had these programs had the benefit of collaboration with other girl-serving projects, organizations and institutions, and tools to assess and evaluate the impact of their efforts, their capacity for continuation and/or broader impact could have been substantially increased.
That is the mission of the National Girls Collaborative Project and why the Pennsylvania STEM Initiative sponsors the kickoff to the National Girls Collaborative Project.
This program is designed to raise awareness with community leaders, school officials and representatives from institutions of higher learning for the many opportunities that await females in the STEM disciplines.
Team PA constantly looks for opportunities to partner with like-minded organizations to strengthen its programs and make them even more efficient.
“This is the best organized press tour I have been on (in discussing the March 2010 Creative Services press tour). I have been on tours organized by U.S. State Department Foreign Press Center or PR companies, and this is the best organized one. I can't say enough nice things about all of you guys!”
