High Construction Company awarded museum contract

High Construction Company announced that it was awarded a $1M contract to perform renovations to the North Museum of Natural History and Science, located at 400 College Ave, Lancaster, Pa.

High Construction’s scope of work includes updating select lobby and display areas within the 6,900 square foot main floor footprint, as well as entrance improvements highlighted by a new glass curtain wall and featuring ADA access. The museum’s planetarium renovation is being handled by the owner under a separate contract with Spitz, Inc.

A ceremonial groundbreaking was held at the site on October 2, 2014. The Museum will announce its reopening date and begin its Countdown to Launch on December 1, 2014.

During construction, the museum will operate from a temporary location, called Nano North, on the corner of Water and Chestnut streets in the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design building at 202 N. Prince Street, Lancaster.
