Team Pennsylvania Appoints Ryan C. Unger President & CEO
Harrisburg, December 1, 2015: Ryan C. Unger, Team Pennsylvania’s Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, has been named President & CEO by the organization’s Executive Committee, which includes Public Sector Co-Chair Governor Tom Wolf.
Unger has been serving as Acting President & CEO since July.
Dr. Stephen S. Tang, President & CEO of the University City Science Center in Philadelphia and the board’s Private Sector Co-Chair, said Unger’s knowledge of the organization and his background in economic development laid the groundwork for him to become the Foundation’s next President and CEO.
Tang added, “Over the last six months Ryan has built relationships with our public sector partners that will provide a starting point for our partnership in the years ahead. At the same time, he has reached out to our private sector investors and stakeholders to begin securing the resources necessary to support our organization’s work. We are confident Ryan possesses the skills and perspective necessary to lead our organization.”

Unger, who has been employed at Team Pennsylvania for over four years and previously worked in regional economic development for both the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and SEDA-Council of Governments. He was Team Pennsylvania’s Director of Policy & Programs prior to being named Chief Operating Officer in January of 2013. Ryan graduated from Elizabethtown College and currently serves as President of the Alumni Association for his alma mater. He resides in Midtown Harrisburg.
