Team Pennsylvania is dedicated to expanding Pennsylvania’s economy. Our work is defined by three key program areas that we believe are the building blocks of a healthy and vibrant economy – business growth, education and workforce development and government efficiency.
Team Pennsylvania accomplishes our work by convening industry leaders and policy experts to work together to make Pennsylvania a national leader in economic development. We have worked on a variety of programs over the past 20 years in an assortment of roles and capacities. Below is a snapshot of some of our most recent impacts:
Career Readiness Mini-Grants
Team PA, in partnership with the PA Dept. of Labor & Industry, the Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units, and TE Connectivity, awarded Career Readiness Mini-Grants of up to $10,000 to 65 school districts across the commonwealth. The grants fund a wide assortment of activities for students to learn about career opportunities and build stronger connections between schools and employers. View the full list of grantees here.
Study on Pennsylvania’s Petrochemical, Plastics Manufacturing Future
After Shell’s announcement regarding plans to construct an ethane cracker plant in Western Pennsylvania, Team PA provided funding for a comprehensive study and in-depth report on Pennsylvania’s future in petrochemical and plastics manufacturing industries. The study will be used to inform future business attraction efforts for the commonwealth. Access the executive summary and full report here.
Business Development Mission to China & Korea
Team PA and OIBD partnered on the recent business development mission to China and Korea. Traveling in tandem with the Philadelphia Orchestra for the third year in a row, the delegation from Pennsylvania – including representatives from OIBD, the City of Philadelphia, Lehigh Valley EDC and Chester County EDC – attended two weeks of meetings with prospects, investors and multipliers in China and Korea. Agriculture Advisory Board
The Agriculture Advisory Board was established in early 2016 after Team PA entered into a formal partnership with the PA Dept. of Agriculture. The mission of the advisory board is to support Pennsylvania agriculture economic development efforts by deepening private sector engagement and creating opportunities for meaningful partnership. The advisory board is comprised of private sector leaders representing the breadth of Pennsylvania’s agriculture sector and industries. See a full list of advisory board members here.
