PA PUC, Team Pennsylvania, and Shapiro Administration Partner on Pennsylvania Accelerated Transmission and Energy Redevelopment Study

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PA PUC) has secured a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to launch the Pennsylvania Accelerated Transmission and Energy Redevelopment (PATER) Study.

Led by Team Pennsylvania in collaboration with the PA PUC, Shapiro Administration, and key state agencies, the study will assess retired power generation sites and existing high-voltage transmission infrastructure to identify cost-effective opportunities to modernize the grid and accelerate energy development. The findings will help position the commonwealth for sustained economic growth by strengthening grid reliability, attracting private investment, and bringing valuable sites back into productive use.
