Team Pennsylvania Welcomes Patrick Marty As Senior Vice President Of Strategic Partnerships & External Affairs

New role connects Team Pennsylvania’s growing network of partners across Pennsylvania, nationally and internationally

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Sept. 14, 2026 – Team Pennsylvania welcomes Patrick Marty as its new senior vice president of strategic partnerships and external affairs. In this newly created role, Marty will build and strengthen relationships that support Team Pennsylvania’s mission to accelerate Pennsylvania’s economic future.

As senior vice president of strategic partnerships and external affairs, Marty will serve as a senior ambassador for Team Pennsylvania and the commonwealth. He will work closely with Team Pennsylvania’s president and CEO, leadership team, board members, elected officials, industry leaders, higher education institutions and labor organizations to strengthen the organization’s visibility, influence and impact across Pennsylvania, nationally and internationally.

“Patrick has built a career around many of the same things that define Team Pennsylvania: bringing people together, navigating across sectors and turning relationships into action,” said Abby Smith, president and CEO of Team Pennsylvania. “He knows Pennsylvania exceptionally well, and he brings a breadth of experience across government, business and higher education that will make our work stronger from Day One. We’re really fortunate to have him joining our team.”

Marty joins Team Pennsylvania after more than nine years at Pennsylvania College of Technology, a special mission affiliate of Penn State, where he held a series of senior leadership roles: vice president for college relations; chief of staff; and, since January 2023, chief government and international relations officer. Marty also serves on the State Planning Board and as a member of WVIA Public Media’s board of directors. 

His career reaches well beyond higher education. He spent more than a decade running operations at J.B. Gibbons Construction Inc., one of north-central Pennsylvania’s largest commercial/industrial general contractors. Among other leadership roles, he held a seat on the Williamsport City Council, advised Anadarko Petroleum Corporation on government relations in the energy sector, and co-founded The (Re)Imagination Group, an adaptive-reuse real estate development firm that redeveloped historic buildings in downtown Williamsport. He began his career in journalism at the Chicago Tribune and is a U.S. Army veteran who served as a field artillery officer with duty in then-West Germany.
