Office of International Business Development

In 1997, Team Pennsylvania provided the initial funding for the Department of Community and Economic Development’s (DCED) Office of International Business Development (OIBD) to establish international trade and investment offices around the world.

Pennsylvania employs a two-pronged approach to international business development: the Center for Trade Development provides export development assistance through local and overseas offices while the Center for Direct Investment promotes Pennsylvania to the world stage through a network of global investment representatives and in-state partners.

Over the past 20 years, OIBD has been very successful both in attracting foreign direct investments from overseas companies as well as securing export contracts for Pennsylvania manufacturers.

Team PA’s Lindsay Helsel, Director of International Initiatives, is an employee of Team PA working on behalf of OIBD. This common staff person has strengthened our relationship with OIBD and Lindsay has worked with OIBD and DCED leadership to coordinate trade missions, Bringing the World to PA and other internationally focused events.
