Support Builds for the Pennsylvania Nuclear Energy Roadmap
Leaders from across Pennsylvania’s energy ecosystem are aligning around the shared strategy for the commonwealth’s nuclear future.
HARRISBURG, PA –– July 27, 2026 –– In May, Team Pennsylvania released the Pennsylvania Nuclear Energy Roadmap developed in collaboration with more than 70 leaders from the state and across the national nuclear energy community. Representing industry, academia, nonprofits, labor, and the public sector, the roadmap outlines a shared vision and actionable recommendations to strengthen Pennsylvania’s leadership in nuclear energy.
Since its release, the roadmap has garnered strong support from leaders across the commonwealth and beyond. At the same time, it has become the foundation for conversations about the actions needed to secure Pennsylvania’s energy future and build the coalition required to implement its strategies.
In the coming months, Team Pennsylvania will begin activating the roadmap’s near-term priorities. Early implementation will focus on strengthening coordination across state agencies through an interagency coordination group and advancing a statewide assessment of promising nuclear siting opportunities. Additional efforts will support demonstration projects and align capital and financing structures to encourage investment in nuclear and reduce risk.
The next chapter of Pennsylvania’s nuclear legacy will be built on its existing nuclear energy and manufacturing expertise, and its established nuclear supply chain. By investing strategically in the commonwealth’s nuclear ecosystem, Pennsylvania has an opportunity to drive economic growth, while strengthening its energy security and reinforcing its position as a national leader in nuclear energy. Team Pennsylvania calls on partners across the commonwealth to advance implementation of the roadmap’s strategies and shape our collective economic and energy future.
