Cross-Sector Collaboratives DRAFT

Cross-Sector Collaboratives are networks of leaders from private business & industry, government, academia, nonprofits, and organized labor who work together to advance Pennsylvania’s interests in each high-growth economic opportunity area. The Collaboratives serve as opportunities for networking, education, and discussion, with participants who come together with shared purpose on complex topics.

Team Pennsylvania staff draws from these broader networks for participants to engage in specific activities when interests align. As a nonpartisan, neutral broker, Team Pennsylvania serves as the convener, bringing these stakeholders together.

Team Pennsylvania convenes Cross-Sector Collaboratives in the following areas:

What do Cross-Sector Collaboratives Do?

  • Align around shared priorities: Build coalitions around shared priorities and connect dots among complementary initiatives and activities across the state.
  • Advise on Team Pennsylvania’s strategy, identifying opportunities for Team Pennsylvania to play unique and catalytic roles to strengthen targeted sectors.
  • Elevate & amplify promising practices and ripe opportunities that merit coordinated attention or are ready for scale.
  • Educate & inform on critical topics, developing a shared set of facts that support coordinated action.
  • Connect stakeholders across sectors who share common interests and goals, encouraging collaboration and connectivity, especially among unlikely partners.

Participants play multiple, strategic roles in support of Team Pennsylvania’s goals, depending on their skill set and expertise, including:

  • Expert advisor. Provide perspective and expertise to help shape Team PA’s agenda for action, understanding industry trends and opportunities to accelerate economic growth.
  • Strategist. Partner with Team PA to identify and develop strategies to shape Pennsylvania’s economic future. Help identify the specific roles that Team PA can play to achieve impact.
  • Connector. CSC participants broker introductions and facilitate connections across organizations and initiatives in service of collective impact for the Commonwealth.
  • Implementer. CSC participants may organize around specific opportunities for action, forming working group with staff support from Team PA. These work groups operate with a defined scope and set of objectives, designed to be action-oriented and focused.
  • Contributor. Financially contribute to Team PA and its work in the targeted portfolio.

Each Collaborative meets quarterly, and participation is open and dynamic. Anyone who shares our priorities to strengthen Pennsylvania in these sectors is welcome to join us. We leave space for different perspectives while aligned on common goals, recognizing that to tackle these challenges requires partnership and collaboration.
