Fellowship Program

Team Pennsylvania Summer Fellowship

The Team Pennsylvania Summer Fellowship is a paid, 8-week program for individuals who would like to gain experience working with a dynamic, public-private partnership that accelerates the commonwealth’s long-term economic future. The Fellowship runs June 1 through July 31, 2026, with one week off mid-program.

Fellows gain unique exposure to meaningful work within a nonpartisan, state-level, long-term systems change organization, while engaging stakeholders on the most critical topics of Pennsylvania’s economy: agriculture, energy, manufacturing, life sciences, and robotics and tech.

Fellows will:

  • Work directly with our Impact & Innovation Team across our Core Areas of Impact:
  • Explore Team Pennsylvania’s approach to strategic collaboration as respected colleagues, changemakers, and leaders
  • Contribute meaningfully to projects while also receiving professional development, mentorship, and exposure to cross-sector collaboration

During the application process, fellows can indicate preferences for work areas.

Please submit your application here by October 15, including the following:

  • Resume
  • Responses to short-answer questions on values and motivations
  • Work samples (1 writing sample, 1 product in another format)
  • Two references

We will host a webinar on September 9, 2025, from 2:00-3:00 PM EST, to learn more about the Fellowship and meet members of the team. Register here to attend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply for the Fellowship?

At this time, the Fellowship is only open to graduate students. Please note that we may have opportunities for undergraduate interns in the future.

What should Fellows expect?

Team Pennsylvania invests in Fellows’ professional growth, fostering confidence, new skills, and state-level insight. The Fellowship is approximately half learning and half project ownership. Responsibilities may include:

  • Impact and Innovation contributions (e.g., research, analysis, writing)
  • Strategic Impact Initiative contributions that advance our mission (e.g., conducting interviews with stakeholders, supporting grant applications)
  • Administrative and logistical support (e.g., drafting communications)

Fellows also participate in onboarding, learning sessions, and final project presentations.

Do I have to be in Pennsylvania to participate?

Location is flexible. Fellows may participate fully in-person, fully remote, or hybrid. For those Fellows primarily remote, 1-2 visits to Harrisburg may be included. Team PA’s full-time staff generally work Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST, and Fellows should expect to join meetings during business hours while having flexibilty for their own schedule and time zone.

How long is the Fellowship?

The program runs 8 weeks, June 1 – July 31, 2026, with one week off mid-program.

Do I need to have prior professional experience in policy?

No. While some Fellows may have relevant policy or technical experience, we primarily seek candidates who share our core values, demonstrate a growth mindset, and are eager to contribute.

What are the ideal attributes of a Fellow?

We value individuals who embody our organizational commitments and core values. Strong Fellows demonstrate professionalism, problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.

What is required to participate?

Fellows must have access to a reliable computer and internet.

What does a typical week look like?

Fellows can expect to work about 30 hours per week. Early weeks focus on onboarding and orientation, followed by independent project work, professional development, and cohort learning opportunities. The Fellowship concludes with project presentations and reflection.

Are Fellows paid?

Yes. Fellows receive a $4,500 stipend, and official travel expenses (such as trips to Harrisburg) are reimbursed separately
